Unews.ca
Unews.ca provides news relevant to the universities in peninsular Halifax. I contributed digest stories as well as full length articles, photos and live tweet coverage during my time with unews.ca.
Despite the news-y tone of the workshop, I took chances whenever I could to write fun and whimsical pieces. For example, I wrote a piece on Dalhousie students whose part-time jobs were to become Disney Princesses. I also wrote a guide to free Halifax apps. My story about a movie theatre church got over 200 facebook shares.
On a more serious note, I broke the story about the University of King's College finding $2.2 Million in a forgotten account. This got over 100 facebook shares.
Unews.ca is run by 16 King's journalism students along with editor Rick Conrad and assignment editor Stephen Puddicombe.
